Put your skin in the wind

You can pay attention to the radial and bilateral symmetries at play. (Two dimensions, so no spherical symmetries.) You can identify patterns, where variations of a particular spiral or loop cluster establish a motif that is echoed or mirrored, maybe at a smaller or larger scale. You can see patterns asserted and then abandoned before repeating enough times that they invite the brain to reduce looking to the rote execution of a rule.

You can see how each layer aspirationally refines these patterns toward a push/pull homeostasis, and can assess whether you think further layers with further adjustments might have been called for. Spoiler alert, there could always be another go. The idea isn’t to achieve perfect symmetry, but to chronicle the act reaching for it. The only way for anything to be DONE done, is to be dead. And even then, matter and energy are preserved. Their transfiguration continues.
